  • Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections. This also includes prescription blood thinners such as Plavix, Warfarin (Coumadin), Eliquis, Xarelto, etc (please consult with your prescribing physician in regards to stopping these medications prior to procedure, as some cannot or should not be stopped).

  • Do NOT receive facial/laser treatments or microdermsbrasion after Botox injections for at least 10 days. Ask your provider if you are not sure about the time frame of certain services.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours.

  • Do NOT lie down for 6 hours after your Botox treatment. This will prevent the Botox from tracking into the orbit of your eye and causing drooping eyelid.

You are charged for the amount of product used. Therefore, you will be charged for a product used during any touch-up or subsequent appointments.

  • Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the Botox in the injected area and not elsewhere.

Fillers Post-Injection Instructions

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AFTER YOUR FILLER TREATMENT FOR BEST RESULTS:

  • Immediately after your treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness, and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. If the inconvenience continues or if other reactions occur, please contact your practitioner.

  • The initial swelling after treatments may last longer than two days. Some patients experience swelling for about a week and the injected area can look somewhat uneven during this time. This means that the result directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result. It may take 2-4 weeks to even out.

  • After any treatment with fillers, you may FEEL lumpy and/or bumpy for a few weeks or even months afterwards. This is normal. The key is not to SEE the lumps.

  • Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours following the injection. After that, mineral based make-up can be applied and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.

  • Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area for 1 week after injection. Unless instructed by the provider.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours.

  • Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours.

  • It is strongly recommended that you do not fly for 1-2 weeks post injection.

  • Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.

  • If you have swelling you may gently apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.

  • Use Tylenol for discomfort if needed.

  • Avoid drinking through a straw for 6 hours post injection if injection performed in the lips.

  • Try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling.

  • Take Arnica (OTC-at all pharmacies & Amazon) to help the bruising and swelling if needed.

  • Expect swelling day 1-3 after injection.

  • Sleep elevated on pillows when sleeping the first 1-3 nights to keep down swelling and avoid sleeping on the treated areas.

  • It is preferred that you wash your face lightly with soap & water only until the following day.

  • It is recommended to not use make up for 12 hours or skin care products for 24 hours post-injection.

  • If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.

  • Avoid dental and any other invasive procedures 2 weeks prior and after your filler treatment.

  • Dermal filler gradually dissolves. The correction does not last forever. Many people choose to be treated again within 4-6 months of the original treatment.

Hair PRP Treatment Instructions

Treatment:

PRP therapy for hair is a treatment that involves withdrawing a patient's own blood, processing it so only the enriched cells (platelet-rich plasma) remain, and injecting it into the scalp. PRP contains essential proteins that stimulate natural hair growth. Due to the natural variation in quality of platelet-rich plasma, results can and will vary between individuals. Patients may require multiple sessions to obtain desired outcomes.

Contraindications:

You should NOT have PRP treatment done if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Impaired immune system due to immunosuppressive diseases (HIV, HTV, or immunosuppressive medications)

  • Skin conditions/diseases: facial cancer (existing or uncured), squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, systemic cancer, and chemotherapy.

  • Steroid therapy, dermatological diseases affecting the face (Porphyria), communicable diseases, blood disorders and platelet abnormalities, anticoagulation therapy (Warfarin, Plavix, Xarelto)

  • Do NOT have PRP treatment if you are pregnant.

7 days before treatment:

  • Discontinue blood-thinning agents: Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Gingko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, and Essential Fatty Acids, and multivitamins, a minimum of 7 days (preferably 14 days) prior to treatment. It is okay to continue iron and Vitamin D.

  • Please let your provider know immediately if you are taking any blood thinners, as they may represent a contraindication to this treatment (Warfarin, Plavix, and Xarelto).

  • Avoid Aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti-inflammatory medications for two weeks prior to treatment.

  • Do not take systemic steroids (Prednisone, Hydrocortisone, etc) or other topicals such as Solanpas or Voltaren Gel for at least two weeks prior to your treatment. (Please inform your provider if you've had an epidural or steroid injection of any sort within the last six weeks.)

  • It is ok to color your hair up to 7 days before the procedure.

We WANT inflammation to occur–this is one mechanism by which PRP works.

  • You may use Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed prior to the treatment.

  • Prescription medications (including heart and blood pressure medication) should be taken as prescribed right up to, and including, the day of and the day after your treatments.

  • If you are taking broad beta-blockers such as Inderal (Propranolol), please inform your provider as this medication may need to be changed to a select beta-blocker in advance of the treatment.

  • Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure.

3 days before treatment:

  • Minimize or avoid all alcohol and caffeine consumption three days before and after treatment.

  • Avoid vigorous exercise, sun, and heat exposure.

  • If possible, refrain from or minimize smoking prior to your procedure as it impacts the healing process.

  • You may continue other hair loss treatments such as laser treatment, minoxidil, or hormone blocking tablets before your procedure. If you are not sure if you should be stopping a medication, please ask.

Diet and Fluid Intake:

  • Increase your intake of fluid the day before your procedure by simply drinking two glasses of water in the morning, two glasses at lunch, and two glasses at dinner, in addition to your normal intake of water.

  • Please eat normal meals prior to your procedure. Take all of your normal medications as prescribed aside from the ones listed, if possible, per your medical provider.

Day of Procedure:

  • Shower the morning of your treatment and wash your hair very thoroughly using your regular shampoo.

  • Do not apply sprays, gels, or any other styling products to your hair.

  • If you wear a hair system, please remove it prior to shampooing and do not wear it before your PRP treatments.

  • Please eat a normal breakfast or lunch the day of your PRP session.

  • Drink a bottle of water (500 mL) at least two hours before your session.

  • It is strongly recommended to take a hot shower to wash your hair that evening, after the treatment, to promote the effects of PRP.
