  • Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections. This also includes prescription blood thinners such as Plavix, Warfarin (Coumadin), Eliquis, Xarelto, etc (please consult with your prescribing physician in regards to stopping these medications prior to procedure, as some cannot or should not be stopped).

  • Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Results from injections will take approximately 4 to 7 days to appear. Also, bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.

Botox/Dysport Post-Injection Instructions

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AFTER YOUR BOTOX/DYSPORT TREATMENT FOR BEST RESULTS:

  • Do NOT manipulate the treated area for 4 hours following treatment.

  • Do NOT receive facial, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion after injections for at least 10 days. Ask your provider if you are not sure about the time frame of certain services.

  • Some providers believe that smiling and frowning right after treatments helps the Botox/Dysport find its way to the muscle into which it was injected after treated.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours.

  • Do NOT lie down for 3 hours after your treatment. This will prevent the toxin from tracking into the orbit of your eye and causing drooping eyelid.

  • It can take approximately 5 to 7 days for results to be seen. If the desired result is not seen after 2 weeks of your treatment you may need additional treatment. You are charged for the amount of product used. Therefore, you will be charged for a product used during any touch-up or subsequent appointments.

  • Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the Botox/Dysport in the injected area and not elsewhere.

  • It is preferred that you wash your face lightly with soap & water only until the following day.

Hair PRP Treatment Instructions

Treatment:

PRP therapy for hair is a treatment that involves withdrawing a patient's own blood, processing it so only the enriched cells (platelet-rich plasma) remain, and injecting it into the scalp. PRP contains essential proteins that stimulate natural hair growth. Due to the natural variation in quality of platelet-rich plasma, results can and will vary between individuals. Patients may require multiple sessions to obtain desired outcomes.

Contraindications:

You should NOT have PRP treatment done if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Impaired immune system due to immunosuppressive diseases (HIV, HTV, or immunosuppressive medications)

  • Skin conditions/diseases: facial cancer (existing or uncured), squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, systemic cancer, and chemotherapy.

  • Steroid therapy, dermatological diseases affecting the face (Porphyria), communicable diseases, blood disorders and platelet abnormalities, anticoagulation therapy (Warfarin, Plavix, Xarelto)

  • Do NOT have PRP treatment if you are pregnant.

7 days before treatment:

  • Discontinue blood-thinning agents: Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Gingko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, and Essential Fatty Acids, and multivitamins, a minimum of 7 days (preferably 14 days) prior to treatment. It is okay to continue iron and Vitamin D.

  • Please let your provider know immediately if you are taking any blood thinners, as they may represent a contraindication to this treatment (Warfarin, Plavix, and Xarelto).

  • Avoid Aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti-inflammatory medications for two weeks prior to treatment.

  • Do not take systemic steroids (Prednisone, Hydrocortisone, etc) or other topicals such as Solanpas or Voltaren Gel for at least two weeks prior to your treatment. (Please inform your provider if you've had an epidural or steroid injection of any sort within the last six weeks.)

  • It is ok to color your hair up to 7 days before the procedure.
